The GOLD Genome & Metagenome Project Submission files allows you to submit information on complete or ongoing sequencing projects in GOLD.

The Metadata collected for the sequencing projects complies with the Genomic Standards Consortium MIGS/MIMS minimum information requirements.

"After you have specified a project in GOLD, you can submit your microbial genome and metagenome sequences for inclusion into IMG ER <http://imgweb.jgi-psf.org/cgi-bin/img_er_v260/main.cgi> and IMG/M ER <http://durian.jgi-psf.org/img_mer_v260>, respectively. These systems will provide you password protected access to your datasets while allowing you to analyze and annotate them in the rich comparative context of publicly available genomes and metagenomes"

Submit your Project to GOLD

If you would like to submit your genome or metagenome project to GOLD, please download the corresponding file below, fill-in the information and submit the file to GOLD [mail@genomesonline.org]

Note: Data fields with an asterisk are mandatory. Data fields highlighted in green are strongly recommended. Please fill all fields possible)

Frequently Asked Questions - GOLD

  • A: - You are submitting only the information related to the Sequencing Project and any available metadata related to that

  • A: - No, GOLD does not contain any sequence data, it contains only the information about the project

  • A: - GOLD is currently the largest repository for genome project information world-wide. The accurate and efficient genome project tracking is a vital criterion for launching new genome sequencing projects, and for avoiding significant overlap between various sequencing efforts and centers.

Frequently Asked Questions - IMG

  • A: - If you have generated microbial genome or metagenome sequences, and you would like to perform a comparative analysis with other genomes and metagenomes or manually curate them, you can submit your sequences for integration into the IMG ER and IMG/M ER,systems respectively (ER standing for Expert Review).

  • A: - Yes, access to the -ER systems are password protected, so only you can access the data you have submitted.

  • A: - First, you have to request an account from: http://img.jgi.doe.gov/submit. Once you have an account you can access the above url and submit your data. For a detailed tutorial on the submission process and on the ER systems, please download the Submission User Guide

  • A: - You can submit both annotated datasets or un-annotated sequences. In the latter case you will select the automatic annotation pipeline of IMG (for isolate genomes or metagenomes) to be applied to your sequences.

  • A: - No, in order to have your project submitted in IMG, you must first have your project defined in GOLD. For that, you must fill-in the appropriate file, from the above links (either for genome or metagenome project)
